Hi all, I’m Jamie Fellrath, your host here at Mudlife Crisis.
I’m looking for people who are fed up with what life has thrown them, and the lies they’re told about it. Have you ever looked at the mess of modern existence and thought “there has to be another way?” Have you ever wondered “if this is how we’re supposed to live our lives, why are people sicker and weaker than ever?”
And, most importantly, have you ever considered that getting older doesn’t have to mean “getting older?” Is it possible that all those aches and pains you’re feeling as you move into your forties or even fifties are not just because of aging?
Then you’re in the right place.
My goal here is to introduce (or perhaps re-introduce) you to how your body and mind actually work to create vitality in your life. We live in a world that is, quite frankly, greatly at odds with what we need to be healthy and happy. There are a ton of bad and unfounded ideas out there that need dispelling and replacement with good ideas that work.
And I want you to test that with one of the most life-changing things you can do for yourself – take part in an obstacle course race. I believe that pushing yourself to overcome challenging physical obstacles is one of the greatest ways there is to prove to yourself that you are more than just a series of medical tests, resumes, PTA memberships, and frequent flier miles. More on that here.
And that’s why we’re here.
I spent my life accepting what information life threw at me until a personal scare shocked some sense into me. That scare was compounded by my family situation when my son was diagnosed with autism just after turning four.
Since then, I’ve been on a personal journey to see how I can use the modern world’s advances combined with the best knowledge of human existence in the past to create a life that is bold, challenging, fulfilling, and free – not just for myself but for my whole family and everyone I come into contact with.
I love discovering the challenges that life – modern and historical – has put in our way, and figuring out how to overcome those challenges. Many have led the way with this thought, and I’ll be introducing you to some of those thinkers and do-ers. And I’ll also be giving you my personal insights as I discover them for myself.
So I hope you climb aboard and join me in this voyage of discovery!
