… but that doesn’t mean it’s time to stop moving! The winter months are a place where lots of natural training mavens can slack off a bit. It’s harder to get out and do what needs to be done, and especially given the weather we’re currently having here in Ohio (can you say “colder than Alaska?”) the impetus to get out and “enjoy” the weather is lacking.
But the training can certainly be done. Our training is all about preparation for a bunch of different environments and obstacles, so feeling we need to stick to one exercise plan is sort of ridiculous. We want bodies that are functional and ready to go.
And at the same time, we want it to be fun! We’re not about mindless drudgery of exercise. We want to get out and move!
It’s a great time to work on your resistance to the elements. That’s always a big part of obstacle course racing – one of the most popular types of obstacles is the ice water plunge – what better way to get ready for one of those than to get out into the cold and work out?
Besides, who says you can’t find fun in winter exercise?
And if you still want to do movements like MovNat and the like, there’s plenty of way to get that done, too.
It’s never impossible – and the snow and cold can add different types of challenges!
Use the winter to give you an awesome workout!
I think you get the idea. Have some fun, don’t give up, and be ready for spring!
